The Soundtrack Beat Battle, founded in 2010, was Nashville’s first leading Hip‐Hop showcase known as one of the best and most competitive beat battles in the Nation. The Soundtrack Beat Battle penned itself to be the ultimate throw‐down for undiscovered producers to compete for a major opportunity. The grand prize winner received cash prize, a pitch meeting with labels like Sony/ATV and Interscope Records, 2 page feature in Electronic Musician Magazine, gear from companies like Big Fish Audio and Ableton Software Packages, and the opportunity to produce, record and shoot a video with celebrity guest judge at SAE studios in Nashville.
Generating much industry buzz, the Soundtrack Beat Battle caught the eye of Nashville Mayor Karl Dean. Thoroughly impressed, the Mayor had this to say about the beat battle:
"This just goes to show that, not only is Nashville the country music capital, it is an important base for a variety of genres, and from classical to hip‐hop, Mayor Dean said. I always say you can’t have too much live music happening in our city, and events like the Soundtrack Beat Battle are a great addition to our musical calendar."
